With the introduction of new building regulations in Tasmania (Building Act 2000 Tasmania) WMcA considered it necessary for the company to become accredited as a Builder Commercial - Limited 1. (Please refer to the accompanying certificate.) This enabled the company to continue trading in the areas that we have done so for the past 48 years. These areas include construction works associated with the Scope of Work indicated in the certificate.
White & McAllister employees are trained and fully aware of environmental aspects associated with installation and maintenance activities in order to determine those which have significant impact on the environment. Our Occupational, Health and Safety System requires that material safety data sheets are available for products handled by White & McAllister.
All personnel have undergone extensive training in Occupational Health & Safety and Risk Management procedures. (Please refer to the attachments indicating our certificate and management tools.)
In order to keep abreast of industry trends, White & McAllister is a member of the following Associations:
- Air-conditioning and Mechanical Contractors Association
- Electrical Contracting Industry Association
- Fire Protection Association Australia
- Asbestos Removal and Treatment Contractors Association
- Standards Australia
Involvement in these bodies provides training, innovative work practices and advice on industrial matters.
White & McAllister uses a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), known as ESIS/WorkSmart, for all maintenance service contracts. This is designed to control maintenance operations. ESIS/WorkSmart allows for long-term growth of any size maintenance operation, as the client can continually add to the database of equipment, inventory and work orders.
